With twinkling lights throwing a festive glow into the room and a distinctive aroma, which takes you back to your childhood, Christmas trees are an important aspect of our festive celebrations. From the 30th November  all at airhouses will be getting into the spirit, as each lodge will be decorated with it’s own Christmas tree.

What’s On in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders

Edinburgh’s Christmas celebrations are now world famous and it’s easy to see why.

From the end of November Princes Street and the gardens are transformed into a magical, festive fairground for all ages.  The street becomes home to a traditional German market where you can wander around the beautifully illuminated wooden cabins and browse at the traditional and unusual produce.  When there is a chill in the air, why not try some of the Glehewen (Mulled Wine) to warm you up!

The fairground offers something for the children – young and old.  The focal points include a fantastic ice skating rink and a beautiful Ferris Wheel, which offers the brave amongst you wonderful views of the city at its festive best.

There are several options to enjoy a trip to the theatre (Oh no there isn’t – Oh yes there is!!) from the traditional pantomimes to ballets and musicals.

The list doesn’t end there, with great shopping, a huge variety of bars and restaurants and a great events calendar over the festive period; you’ll be glad that airhouses is within an easy drive of Scotland’s capital.

Closer to home, in the Scottish Borders, the temperature may be dropping but there is no shortage of events and activities on offer to keep you moving.  With Christmas markets from days of old to craft fairs with the modern and unique, Christmas shopping won’t be an issue this year!
