Reviews for Airhouses
Some Comments from Guests:
Airhouses is a hidden gem for those with a
taste for luxury in tranquil surroundings. Breathtaking scenery
and absolute peace and quiet! Having stayed in countless lodges
over the years Airhouses have redefined our expectations of 5 *
lodge accommodation.
David and Sandra Wallace - The Lamont Lodge
This was the third time we have stayed at
Airhouses, and it keeps getting better. From the initial online
booking: to arrival and throughout the holiday Carol and Martin
deliver this truly unique and luxurious product with seamless
efficiency. We have stayed in both the Lamont and
Ramsay lodges which both surpass the boutique hotels on
offer in Edinburgh. We have stayed at Airhouses as a short break
for just myself and my wife, with our parents and most recently
with our two young children, there is something for everyone
here, my daughter loved all of the animals, and getting to walk
one of the ponies was truly her highlight! We have already
booked for next year, cannot recommend Airhouses enough!!
Chris Hall, The Ramsay Lodge
The
Buchanan Lodge was the perfect
venue for my business trip, but I could see that my
family would love it as much. Ideally located for
Edinburgh
and touring the Borders, the accommodation was excellent
throughout with a great bed, great shower and the most wonderful
breakfast basket of quality ingredients left for breakfast. I
didn't have a moment to jump in the hot tub, but I can imagine
watching the sun setting down the valley with a glass or two
would be the perfect end to the day.

Having tried various other
lodges with hot tubs throughout Scotland,
Airhouses is the only lodge that we frequently return to.
This is a view held by ourselves and our adult children. It
offers exceptional high quality surroundings in a tranquil area
of beauty allowing us to relax and recharge our batteries. There
is no doubt that we will be returning!
Pauline Hanlon, The Buchanan Lodge
l honestly did not want to leave.....l
don't think l have ever stayed anywhere where l felt that our
needs were met so completely...everything had been thought
of....the lodges were clean and warm and equipped to an
exceptionally high standard...the welcome hamper of food was
delicious and wonderful quality...the robes, slippers and extra
towels for the hot tub were an added luxury that we also
appreciated, along with the book shelves, movies, relaxing music
and board games for the children..we will definitely be back for
more!!
Andrew and Tracy Todd, The Lamont Lodge
Six of us stayed at The Lamont and had the most wonderful
time. The Lodge had everything you needed and more. It was
clean, warm, well furnished and well equipped. The setting is
breathtaking and the hot tub was the most wonderful way to relax
for an hour in the evening. We were all hot tub novices and did
not think it would live up to the hype, boy were we wrong, it
was fabulous. It was a pleasure to stay in accommodation where
the owner's obviously care about their clients. The extra
touches were much appreciated, the hamper, fruit, toiletries,
robes and slippers all just added to the quality of the
accommodation. Last but not least, the animals (think we bought
all the carrots in Lauder). The ponies were adorable, the
alpacas stand offish and the pigs were just hilarious (hope you
check the fence regularly)because the way they run at it makes
us think they will crash through it one day!!!!!!
We will be back.
Catherine Shepherd, The Lamont Lodge
The Lamont Lodge was fantastic
and all the little touches , the food, fresh fruit, coffee
machine and coffee, shower gels and shampoos made this feel like
staying in a 5 star hotel not a self catering lodge. Hot tub was
a lovely warm retreat on a cold October evening. Plenty of DVDs
and books to keep you amused and enjoyed our daily trips to feed
the animals. Best self catering accommodation we have ever
stayed in.
Elaine Muircroft, The Lamont Lodge
Wow what a wonderful 5 star lodge in
an excellent location.
Every window we looked out of had a breathtaking view of
the wonderful countryside. The kitchen was so well equipped that
we were happy to spend most nights in cooking as you had
everything we needed and didn't feel the need to leave the farm.
The generosity of the welcome pack was second to none, we still
couldn't make our way through all the items over 7 nights.
It was exciting to get up each morning and decide what to
feed the pigs and the shetland ponies. The hot tub at night was
my favourite as the non light pollution made the viewing of the
stars excellent.
Thank you for making us feel so welcomed.
We can truly say that after our holiday
we are very relaxed and look forward to returning to one
of your beautiful lodges soon.
Sandra Fleary, The Ramsay Lodge
From beginning to end our stay was
most enjoyable and would have no hesitation in recommending
Airhouses. There was great attention paid to every last
detail to ensure our stay was pleasurable. We were shown good
hospitality and nothing was too much trouble.
The hot tub was amazing and got up
extra early(6am!!!) the day we left to take one last dip and
look over the breath taking hill views. Our welcome food pack
was generous and tasty, and would recommend to turn up at your
Lodge hungry as it cooks up as quite a plateful! Altogether a
lovely, idyllic, setting to relax, unwind, and enjoy what the
area has to offer.
Lisa Marshall, The Lodge
Airhouses and The Lamont lived up to every
review we had read before arriving.
The setting was fabulous with amazing
views from the lodge, it was so peaceful and private.
The Hot Tub was lovely and sitting in that during the day
and in the dark was just bliss!!! We had great weather too.
Both me and my husband and our two
children (14 and 12) thought it was one of the best weeks we
have ever had.
We will definitely return and have
already given rave reviews to family and friends.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Karen Birch, The Lamont Lodge
A new experience for us with total
tranquillity throughout our stay. The food pack in the fridge on
our arrival was valued and the produce was excellent.
We were impressed by the twice daily maintenance of the
hot tub. The cleanliness throughout our accommodation would put
most hotels to shame. We got the impression that Carol and
Martin made every effort to ensure their guests would be hard
pressed to find fault during their stay. Keep up the good
work
Tom & Karen - The Lodge
Fantastic Lodge of outstanding quality in amazing surroundings.
Can't wait to return, lots to still see and do in the area.
Terry and Kerry Fawcett, The Ramsay
Lodge
Last min relaxing get away.. Totally
Impressed with Airhouses and the Quality of lodges. The
hot tub was selling point to this as I've now decided you cant
beat relaxing in a hottub outside with pint of magners and
amazing views it offers. The welcome pack within the fridge was
also 100%. I will be Booking up again In future. Just the
place if you want to get away for few days and relax.
Only flaw is fact the Hot tub Is 350kg
and can't fit in boot of my Civic...... maybe next time
Airhouses...
Neil McPhee, The Lodge
We
stayed at airhouses for a quiet break as my husband works
away from home a lot and it's not always easy to get time
together. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The
lodge was amazing. Immaculate with everything you could possibly
need. The setting of the lodges is gorgeous. Relaxing in the hot
tub in the most gorgeous countryside was a great experience. We
have been to log cabins before but i can honestly say,
airhouses stands out by a long shot. I would recommend them
highly to anyone who wants a luxurious break with all the
personal touches that make it a home from home. We can't wait to
come back
Sharon Mitchell, Ramsay Lodge
We found The
Lodge to be even more luxurious and well equipped than
expected. It was very cosy despite some cold evenings and being
in the hot tub when snowing was a highlight. The views were much
more impressive than the photos on the website would lead you to
believe and the surrounding area is of outstanding natural
beauty. I wouldn't hesitate to book again and am already
looking to see when I can come back this year ! A fantastic way
to holiday in Scotland.
Dominic Fernandez-Ares, The Lodge
Our third visit so far, and each time
we fall in love with the Lamont and location a little
more! Keep up the
good work - we'll be back soon!!!
Gary and Chantelle, The Lamont Lodge
We were really impressed with the Ramsay
lodge. The kitchen
was great, everything you could possibly need for a week, from
making a fry up with the fresh local products in the welcome
basket to cooking up a storm in the evenings (with a dishwasher
to do the hard work afterwards)! The beds were very comfortable
and in addition to the 'fresh country air' they made for a great
nights sleep. Both bathrooms/wetrooms were luxurious - the
heated flooring was great and the power shower was amazing
especially after a dip in the hot tub! The beautiful views of
the surrounding countryside added to the relaxed atmosphere. We
will definitely be returning
Faye Parsons, The Ramsay Lodge
From the moment we arrived and until
the moment we left, Martin and Carol could not do enough for us
to make our stay with them as perfect as possible.
The Lodge was well above anything we expected and the
facilities provided had been very carefully chosen.
Quite simply, to be situated at the
heart of a working farm with stunning scenery framed from the
lodge window and warming sunsets to watch at the end of the day,
I defy anyone to come away anything but relaxed.
Don't contemplate a stay, book it.
Darren and Lena Ledson
An unbelievable experience in superb
quality accommodation in beautiful surroundings.
The entire event was managed from beginning to end by a
most efficient, friendly and delightful couple whose number one
priority was customer satisfaction. Worth every penny.
Fiona Lloyd
We had an absolutely fantastic time in
the Buchanan
lodge. The views, the cabin, the hot tub. It was all
beautiful and comfortable. Not only was everything thoughtfully
provided but the standard and finish, superb! We'll definitely
return for some r&r!
Andrea Hall
Our stay was fantastic , the lodge had
everything we needed. The welcome basket was a great touch and
greatly appreciated. The hot tub was amazing even in oct.
the break was a surprise for my partner and he loved it.
Carol and Martin could not have been more friendly. We only stay
about an hr n a half away but felt like we were a million miles
from home. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Nicola Marshall
It was very relaxing and i was very
impressed with The
Lodge. It was a surprise for Mike's birthday! The hot tub
was an added bonus. I have recommended it too friends and
family. I thought
the hamper in the fridge, the fruit, robes and all the
finishing touches were very thoughtful and made it that extra
but special. Thank you!
Laura Spence and Mike Hunter
We enjoyed a very relaxing, fun-filled
trip at airhouses in the Lamont and Buchanan
lodges. The lodges were first class and extremely well
equipped. The farm was charming, it was great fun feeding the
pigs! We loved the hot tubs and Carol very kindly catered for
our requirements, ensuring there was enough glassware and
crockery in one lodge for our party. All in all, a fabulous
weekend. I will certainly recommend airhouses to friends
and family.
Janine Bird, The Buchanan and Lamont
Fantastic weeks holiday - will
definitely return. (maybe for our honeymoon!!)) The lodge was
exceptional - all the extra little touches were really
impressive.
The view from the lodge was superb and
the whole holiday relaxing.
Hot tub was perfect way to unwind and
watch the wildlife and scenery.- with a glass of wine.
Even caught a glimpse of two deer
running over the track as we came back in on our last
night.
FANTASTIC week did not want to leave.
Nicola Mercer, The Ramsay Lodge
We stayed in The
Lodge for 4 nights in April, and can honestly say that we
loved every minute of it. It is the best equipped self
catering accommodation we have ever stayed in, and the hot tub
made our stay so relaxing. Even when the weather was bleak
and cold, we were still able to enjoy the hot tub as it was
maintained brilliantly and was always ready for us to use it!
We also loved the ponies and pigs and felt like the location was
perfect for the ultimate relaxing break - just what we needed.
We will definitely be making it a regular event on our calendar
and will be recommending it to our friends and family"
Sarah Smythe, The Lodge
I just love to come to the Airhouse
Lodges. They
are a real treat and have something for everyone.
Although only 20 miles from Edinburgh- you really feel
that you have escaped the city. The hot tubs are fantastic and
the lodges are really well supplied.
It is lovely to feed the pigs and to go for a walk around
the farms.
I would recommend this place to anyone
who needs to get away and feel that they have been pampered!
Lorraine McGuigan, The Buchanan Lodge
We have just returned from another
visit to Airhouses.
We have stayed twice now, firstly in the Lodge for my
husbands 40th birthday.
We loved it so much that we were desperate to come back
for another visit. I
think that these lodges are far superior than any 5* hotel I
have stayed in. You
have all the facilities of a hotel without anyone bothering you
to get out of your room to make up beds etc. If your looking for
luxury at an affordable cost then Airhouses are for you.
On our recent visit we decided to
bring our children along with another couple and their children.
So we stayed at the Buchanan Lodge.
As before everything that could have been done to make
our stay as pleasurable as possible was.
We had enough space for everyone so we didn't feel on top
of one and other. We
all had separate bathrooms with plenty of fresh towels and
toiletries for all.
Both adults and kids were well catered
for with plenty of games and books.
Everything that could be thought of was! The children
especially loved the upstairs bedroom, a little haven away from
adults where they happily played before retiring for the
evening. On our first evening we went for dinner to The
Lodge at Cafraemill, about five mins drive from Airhouses.
We were very impressed, the staff were fantastic and very
accommodating to our children.
There was eight of us, which is really enough to put
anyone off, but they couldn't have been anymore helpful than
they were.
Fiona Cogan, The Buchanan Lodge
"Had a fantastic few days break. Enjoyed the peace and quiet and
the stunning views from the the Ramsay lodge. The lodge itself
is very well equipped and has everything you could possibly
need. We had done quite a lot of walking around the area and the
hot tub was just what we needed for those aches and pains! All
in all it was first class. Will definitely be back"
Lisa Rumgay, The Ramsay Lodge
"We have just spent a glorious week at
the Lamont Lodge in February. The booking was simple, arranging
groceries easy, the greeting from Martin and Carol welcoming,
the lodge and view stunning! We couldn't have been happier on
the farm with views of rolling hills, feeding the horses and
pigs each morning, seeing hares, deer and cows in the adjoining
fields. The hot tub was sensational and a little treat at the
end of our long tiring days exploring the Borders and nearby
Edinburgh. Thank you to Carol and Martin for providing this
comfort. Well done on creating accommodation that we can't find
fault with".
Rae Lee, the Lamont Lodge
"We had a fantastic weekend in The Lodge. No complaints
about anything. Every detail was thought about from the
hairdryer, to the breakfast pack. We feel that nothing needs to
be improved, it was perfect in everyway scenic, peaceful,
relaxing and romantic! Look forward to returning soon! Thank you
very much"
Craig and Siobhan Lamont
"You have a little piece of heaven on earth. We enjoyed a
fabulous family weekend celebrating my parents Golden Wedding
Anniversary. It was a relaxing
weekend, from the early morning dip in the hot tub
enjoying the wonderful views to the lovely walks down the
country lane. Thank you so much for allowing us the pleasure of
the Buchanan lodge, we hope to become regulars"
Karen Moyes
"The Buchanan is a lovely spacious
and modern lodge set in beautiful surroundings.
There are many additions which add to the stay such as
extra towels for the hot tub, robes and slippers.
The owners have thought of everything that a person could
want and are extremely accommodating, from clear directions to
the airhouses to being towed on and off the farm on a
very snowy week! They also helped to arranged flowers for a
Valentines day gift.
We definitely recommend and will be returning."
The Oliver Family, The Buchanan Lodge
"The Lamont more than exceeded our
expectations, both in size and decor, and being excellently
equipped with absolutely everything catered for and clearly no
expense spared. The view from the lodge was phenomenal, and the
surroundings were so peaceful that we really didn't want to
leave! The location was perfectly situated for easy access in to
local towns and cities, making this the perfect week away for
family's or couples alike. Truly worth its 5* accommodation
rating".
Zoe Green, The Lamont Lodge
"We shall definitely come back, your
friendliness, the ambience, peace and quiet, view, proximity to
Edinburgh and general facilities, layout and furnishings were
marvellous. We will also recommend you to friends and consider
your facilities for Group business meetings when it is
appropriate. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
Jan Trevalyan, the Buchanan Lodge
"We had such a wonderful time, we
really could not fault Airhouses. The lodges were
perfect, really modern with everything you would need - a real
'home from home' and they are set in the most beautiful
countryside. We will certainly be booking again...and bringing
friends with us next time!"
Joanne and Ian Fuell
"My partner and I were most impressed
with the time spent in The Ramsay. The accommodation was first
class comfort with style. We were not interested
in a dynamic break and found exactly what we were looking for
with Airhouses. The lodge was 5 star, right down to the
champagne on arrival. The location was set beautifully, to truly
capture the Scottish hills and peaceful with no disruption. The
lodge contained all of the amenities you would need for Self
Catering and more and we will gladly recommend them plus visit
again most definitely. We were settled in nicely then left to
ourselves to really benefit from a 5 star relaxing break."
Amanda Robinson
"We booked over the New Year period, and
had a fantastic time despite the best attempts of the weather!
Hot tub-ing in the rain is a definite must. The lodges
themselves are luxurious and relaxing and we have recommended
them to all of our friends. The surrounding area was very
peaceful and tranquil, with stunning views. We would love
to come back at any time of the year."
Heather Linnie
"We were 8 adults enjoying a weekend
away from the hustle and bustle of family life. The lodge
exceeded our expectations, beautiful, clean and containing lots
of lovely extras that made all the difference, e.g. bathrobes,
slippers, lovely fluffy towels, and additional towels for the
hot tub. The welcome pack was wonderful as too was the full
fruit bowl!
The best part of our weekend was the hot tub. Lazing around with
a glass of wine in the tub, whilst outside it was really cold.
The scenery is just spectacular, we enjoyed our walk, but
unfortunately the snow storm meant we had to rush back, arriving
soaked through. The hot tub beckoned and a sense of wellbeing
returned.
We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Black Bull in Lauder on the
Saturday night, and some of the group even got to watch football
on Sky Sports on the Sunday lunchtime at the village pub (within
walking distance). Thank you."
Debbie Richardson, Cumbria
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at
Airhouses, and will not hesitate to recommend it to family
and friends, and I'm sure we will return as well. The location
is superb with wonderful views - best enjoyed from the hot tub!
All the little details helped to make a relaxing stay, even down
to the slippers provided! We have holidayed in many places
throughout the UK but this is definitely the nicest
accommodation we have stayed in."
Suzanne Ross
"Our stay was excellent.
The lodge was of a very high standard with all amenities
present one would need for a self catering stay.
With beautiful views over the hills, a cosy lodge and a
hot tub on the decking this is a great place to relax and spend
time with your loved ones.
We had a great time and would highly recommend".
Shane Jones
"had a great time!!!! it was
everything we hoped for and more!!!! very scenic, peaceful,
relaxing and romantic!!!!"
Bernadette Lewis
'relaxing, secluded, romantic, cozy,
BRILLIANT!!! - looking forward to another visit'
Margaret Haddock
Stayed over the New Year period and
had a wonderfully relaxing break.
Weather was good so enjoyed walks in the quiet
countryside. Found
our Lodge to be very comfortable and well equipped to a
high standard. We
loved the hot tub.
Would definitely recommend to others and hope to return "
Ewan Grant
The lodge is excellent and has
everything you could possibly want in a self-catering
accommodation. It was the most relaxing few days away we have
had for years. The absence of "civilisation" noise is what I am
after and we certainly had lots of it: just wind, weather, birds
- fantastic! Best of all had to be the hot tub
Nothing better than to wind down in the evening with a glass of
wine.
Nadin Dunnigan
"We loved our stay at the Buchanan
lodge and thoroughly enjoyed your farm, the surrounding
countryside and the quaint town of Oxton.
We especially liked that we could easily walk into town
on the back road from your farm.
We also had a great time petting and talking to the
horses. It's a
beautiful view, even at night when the lights of Oxton shine in
the hills. The lodge
was very comfortable and the 3 1/2 baths made it exceptional.
Lots of room to spread out -the roomy couches in the
great room and 8-seat dining table made relaxation very
pleasant. We were
also so surprised and appreciated so much the Christmas tree and
the thoughtful presents.
These things really made us feel at home- all the way
from Ohio!"
