Travelling to Airhouses
The easiest way to travel is by car. However,
you may prefer to travel by other methods and hire a car for
your stay.
By Rail
The nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverley (40 minutes
drive from Airhouses) and there is a fast, regular, service
from London (4 hours 10 minutes) using the
East
Coast line. Formerly the route of the Flying
Scotsman. Or you could take the Sleeper overnight.
There are various hire car companies at Edinburgh station
but it is advisable to book a car in advance.
By Plane
Edinburgh Airport is 40 minutes from Airhouses and there are
regular direct flights from London, Paris, Amsterdam, New
York etc. From further afield connecting flights are
usually from Paris, Amsterdam or London Heathrow.
Other airports are Glasgow (2 hours) and Newcastle (under 2
hours)
